The Shepherd

The Shepherd watches over His sheep, they are His and He loves them with His life.

Christ compared us to sheep and Himself to being our Good Shepherd. The sheep follow His tender guidance to eternal life as He keeps them save from the wolves.

This morning as we prayed I saw through my spirit eyes and saw a flock of sheep being lead by holy shepherds. Then God spoke to my heart and said:"Guide my sheep"

He said the same thing to Peter and He asked Peter if he loved Him.

And everytime Peter said that he loved Christ, God commanded him to watch over His sheep, feed them and take care of them. Christ repeated the question three times and Peter answered three times that he loved Christ.

"Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." John 21:16

As most of us know it was this same Peter who had denied being His follower on the night Christ was betrayed by Judas.

"Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:

" 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will."

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."

But Peter declared, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the other disciples said the same.Matthew 26:31-35

God knows our past our future and He knew exactly what Peter and the others would do when it was time for Him to triumph over dead and satan.

He knows our hearts and still loves us all.

Christ loved Peter even after his sins to fall away from Christ. Peter repented of his sins and Christ reinstalled him to guide and feed His sheep.

What a wonderful happening. How great and awesome is our God! He knows everything about us and still loves us, still has a destiny for us to fulfill.

It was this same Peter who instead of being afraid of the crowd now stood there fiercefully proclaiming the name of Christ on the day of pentecost as the Holy Spirit indwelled their lifes.

He devoted himself to the command of Christ to feed and watch over His sheep.

How do we feed and watch over His sheep? We do this through the Holy Spirit who comes to live in us as we surrender our lives to Christ. He guides us to guide others so they themselves become guides who see the truth and follow it.

We should never be blind guides, who are blind to the holiness of Christ and swallow a camel of sins.

God is not happy with such shepherds.

let us be pleasing to God and do as He says, even if we may have fallen away from Him. He can reinstall us like Peter and be a blessing once more.
