DEMOCRACY PEACE FREEDOM

They came from far longing for a new beginning
Some abused neglected some repented from sinning

There she stood the Lady of Freedom and Democracy
Seen clearly with their minds hearts bursting forth with anticipation
weak yet determined walking stumbling unto shore of the desired nation

In you we find shelter from the raging storm
New beginnings longings fulfilled
acknowledgment of our existence

We breathe the air our feet caress the soil
Oh land of the brave and outspoken
We give you our loyalty as a small token

The flaming torch blazing with righteous desire
enlightening the darkness of souls fragile  and battered
reviving dreams so cruelly shattered

Equality justice and freedom
torch bearers we become carrying the seal of God’s Love

Dear lady stand your ground hold on to righteousness fire
Let the soil remain soaked in heart’s confessions
forever extending the offer of second chances

Let the Light radiating from the nations bearing the flame
eternally welcome those bruised and wounded
walls be broken down oceans of injustice crossed

May in the image of God the Light of love keep shining
deep within touching the world
healing the wounded saving the lost

And if in the course of pursuing and maintaining peace and democracy
we must fight injustice and grave danger
we shall be heroes humble and brave doing what is right
day by day night by night with Your torch bearing image sealed inside
