COME AND REST WITH ME

Time is money. Everybody is always on the move doing something to achieve their goals in life. We need money to buy our basic necessities, so we invest our time in education and al that is needed to earn an honest wage.
Those of us who love the Lord do our best to serve Him with the gifts he gave us.
But sometimes we end up like Martha, busy, busy and we don't even know the Lord is sitting in the room of our hearts waiting to share His love.
He watches us go round and round until we are exhausted and cry for help.
He always reaches out for us to help us.

God has all the time in the world; He wants to teach us to live by His time table.
There is a time for everything under the sun. Good time management starts with setting your priorities.
For the world the goal is money, for Gods people its loving God.
Seeking His Kingdom first, He knows all that we need and will provide, if we seek Him first.
With the world it's the other way around. Stop exhausting yourself!

Be firm and take the time to sit at Jesus feet like Mary, and drink the Words from His lips. Turn off your cell phone, turn off the tv, the computer, turn off the world and close the door behind you. Jesus will embrace you and you will find rest and peace enabling you to go forward.

"Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place."
Mark 6:31-32

While He walked the earth He needed to rest also, because of His earthly body. You can imagine how tired His feet must have been, there were no fast cars or airplanes.

Then there comes Mary, sweet Mary, pouring out her love on His feet, anointing Him with soft expensive perfume made of pure nard.
Softly kissing His aching feet and tenderly drying them with her lustrous long hair.
It must have felt like heaven to the Lord. So much love and devotion.
His whole being experienced the sensation of her love, reviving Him to go on again.

I wondered how it must have felt, so I massaged my feet and because my hair is long, I managed to wipe my feet with it. It felt like heaven. I would be reluctant though to let someone kiss and massage my feet, for I consider it to be very intimate.

But Jesus trusted Himself to Mary, knowing she did it out of a pure heart.
She didn't come to get something from Him like all the others, she just came to give Him love. He loved her for it.
Before He died she anointed His head with oil, so from His feet to His head she had showered Him with her love.
He honored her by telling the other disciples to mention her deed in all the gospels.
She was the first one He wanted to see after He was raised from the death.
He saw her crying by the tomb and called her by her name.
He had not forgotten her.

Jesus knows you by name. He knows your pain, longings and every anxiety.
Let Him shower you with His oil of love. Shower Him with your love.
Do not only ask from Him, but give Him also what He needs most from you; your love, your time.

Kiss His face, His feet, His Spirit. He will put His arms around you and you will experience heaven together. You will be honored by Him, just like Mary, and you will be refreshed in the Spirit.

He ordered His disciples to wash each others feet, so let me wash yours with showers of love and dry them with my hair. Let us experience His heaven together!

Love, Monique Braam
